RAILWAY SUPERANNUATION.

MEETING OF THE BOARD. WELLINGTON, January 10. The quarterly meeting of the Railway Superannuation Board was held in Wellington to-day, and was attended by Mr T. Ronayne, General Manager of Railways (in the chair), Dr Fithcett (Solici-tor-general), Mr J. W. Poynton (Public Trustee), Mr R. M. Isaacs (First Division, North Island), Mr A. Graham, of Port Chalmers (First Division of the South Island), Messrs J. Pepper, pf Wanganui, and Mr Thomas, of Invercargill (representatives of the Second Division), and Mr R. W. M'Villy (chief clerk of the department), secretary. Owing to indisposition Mr Dawson, of Christchurch (Second Division), was unable to be present. Twenty-one life allowances were granted, the annual payment totalling £1297. Allowances were made to nina widows' with 16 children, the annual charge being £370. The board also made refunds of contributions to 90 exofficers and employees^
