I LONDON, November 11. ! j The Royal Geographical and Royal Societies have contributed £500 and £250 respectively towards Captain Scott's South Polar Expedition. j NEW YORK, November 10. According to the New York Globe's Washington correspondent, Commander Peary declares that he will pake a dash for the South Pole within five years under the auspices of the Peary Arctic Club. November 11. Commander Peary, in contradicting a statement made by^the New York Globe • that he proposes within five.- years to j make a daeh for the South Pole, declares that the United States should organise a national attempt to reach the Pole. To utilise Captain Scott's route or the region wherein he might work would, he j says, be entirely improper. v
