INDUCTION OF REV R E. DAVIES.
There was s very fair congregation in Knox Church o the 10th on the occasion of the induction into the pastorate of the chuTch of the Rev- Robert Evan Davies. 'M.A., who has accepted the call to thei charge. The Moderator of the Otago Presbytery (the Rev. D. N K. Pkfeer)^ presided over the gathering, which partook of the nature- of an ordinary e&rvice. T>here were aleo on the platform many members, both clerical and lay, of the local Presbytery Preliminary exercises of praise and
prayer having been engaged in by tKe presiding minister, the sermon was delivered by him This was based on fsafin 66, verse 16: ."Come ye here .all ye that fear God and: I will declare what He hath done for my aoul." . - . • After further devotional exercisesi the Moderator "submitted to the 'pastor-elect the Tormal set of questions "necessary to the induction of any pastor as drawn up by the Presbyterian Church of New Zealand. All "-'lake queries 'having been answered 'it the affirmative, Mr Dayies was, ceremoniously' inducted l>y having extended to him by the Moderator the right haijd of fellowship. The Rev." James Ghisholm, appointed by the Presbytery to address the minister and congregation, welcomed Mr Davies v^ry heartily to their ranks, and congratulated him op his induction to the largest gregation of their order in the Dominion. The choir then sang the "Hallelujah Chorus," after wi*ich the Benediction was pronounced by the- Rev. Mr Ohishdlm. v As the congregation left the building Professor fiewitsop- stood at the door with
