The I«st weather of fbe meeting was experienoed for the concluding day of . fhe New Ze^bsnl Cup gathering, and there 'was an ' ex-Mfffent "attendance. Slaney apjaeared to ' jann> off in -front of- "the post in, the Hurdles, rnifhe" swung round as" the olbeis le& the mask, and tras last to the first fence, '"inch brought him down. Tyrannic was pio<r>inent «hroughout, aod won by half aAoagih from Whatakura. 'Sharpshooter won the Cressy Welter .after a splendid race. Tawhalri was ,a' neck away second, and Miss Mischief third, whilst Zetiand, VoJddia, and Effort were almost in line behmd the placed horses.' Gunboat won the Seymour Handicap in good style from Vologda, with Dolce dose up third, and Magneto fourth. Penates was prominent at the bead oi the field as the horse* raced far fbe straight in the Members' Handicap, but in fhe run home Gold Lace, who was always handy, drew vp v and won nioery from the. top. weight; Valdimar was a igood third, anfl, then came Master Sonlt and lull Sail. Master Soult finished well after getting ■ a bad passage in the early part of the race, and Czar Kolobol, who was & the nick in the early part, put' in a good run, but faded out after getting dose to the leaders in the run home. A fine raoe was witnessed* in tb« Pioneer Handicap. Big Blast and Tenterhook were prominent in Hie early part, but they stopped at four furlong*. Martyre looked to r>ave a good chanoe at this stage, but Formedon got up in time to beat per by .ahead,a 'head, whilst Lord Kelvin was a neck away third, and .War Song close up fourth. Bobrikoff was' » bit «k>w at the start of the. Staad Memorial Cup, but after" going thnee furionga he joined the leaders, and .then, coming away.- won easily "by four lengths -from Ingoda. AH Red finished last. Naumai won the Randolph Handicap after being well to the. front from the rise of the barrier, tod Broadsword, Multiple, and Los Angelas finished- after the winner in the order named. Los Angelos was slow to " begin, and was ' last two furlongs from home." The meeting concluded with Aberbrothock winning the Fendalton Handicap in good style. Lady Lucy was left at' the post, and Butade fell over the Tails shortly after "tie start.
