November 9.—Our Iccal cheese factory which was burned down lately is to be opened again in a day or two. The contractors have done goocl work in the time, and there are a greet many up-to-date improvements in the new factory. It will be a great boon to the settlers to get their milk into the factory, as at present they have double work by going for their cans again at night to the railway station, as most of them sent their milk to Jkhe Gore factory. Ojur SchooL—Our school was inspected by Mr Hendry lately, and here was a. very good report. General.—Mr Alex. M'Kay was tbe recipient of two books from the niembeirs of the C.E. Society here on tihe occasion, of his marriage. —The pulpit here is at present supplied by Mr Young, a student from Dunedin, andi we are no nearer being settled with a minister.—The annual Christian Endeavour social was held in the church. There was a very la.rge attendance from other societies, and a very enjoyable evening was spent. A number of musical items and recitations were given* and a violin solo by Miss M'lnnes was much appreciated. Speeches were made by the Rev. Waiugh and Mr Johnston. Supper was-dispensed during 1 the evening. We are having very windy weather, alternating with bwrsts of rain.
