WORKERS IN CONFERENCE.

SYDNEY, November 14.

A lengthy conference of the workers was held yesterday, lasting until late last night, but not the slightest idea as to the result is obtainable.

' Although no official information is obtainable, there is 'reason for believing that some disconcerting development occurred at yesterday's conference, rendering it necessary to again confer with the executives of the variors unions represented. After this has been done the conference will be resumed to-morrow afternoon.

The rumoured attitude of the Seamen's Union may mean that the strike will not extend beyond this State.

The Brisbane wool 6ale fixed for yesterday was postponed, buyers declining to operate, pending Newcastle strike developments.
