A case of cattle shootirrg in the Hokoiv_-is ha-s been reported, and «•« understand (says the Winton Record) that inquiries are baint; made which will probably lesult in proceedings being takerr. Mr Joseph Wyatt, of Warracknabeal (says the Melbourne Leader), shows a sheepskin which weighs 351b. It was slaughtered by Mr James Watson, of Mellis. A singular thing is that the carcase of the animal -weighed only 441b, so that the skin gave the best return. The average weight of a skin is from 10!b to 121b. In this instance the sheep was a merino. Its wool was short, but of exceptional thickness.
