Sunny-haired Sunday school scholars in wnit© raiment occupied the front benches of Burns Hall, Dunedin, on the 15th, the occasion being the annual prize-giving demonstration resultant from the Presbyterian Church of N«w Zealand Sunday school examinations. The Moderator (tho Rev W. MTonald) presided; and there was a large attendance of the public. The Moderator, in his opening remarks eaid he was glad to see bo many present'The prizes were valuable, and therein l.c hoped the winners would find much to help m m to d noble ancJ beautiful lives. The- Rev. E. A. Axelsen dwelt upon the theorem that it was a great thing to get prizes— for those who were to get them Others, perhaps, thought there was not much in them anyway. He dealt with th.> value of regular attendance, the force of habit, and the necessity for not " dropping out of the running." There were plenty of temptations for everrona — prize-winners included. Mr Axelsen liberally sprinkled a very happy address with anecdote and moral, evidently highly appreciated by his nearers. An action song was prettily rendered by the North-East Valley scholars, and tho -Mo^iel scholars went thiough ribbon drill u-ifn grace and credit. The prizes were presented by Sisters Evelyn, Mary, and Chnstabel. Mr A. M. Burn moved a hearty vote of thanks, which was carried by acclamation to the following: -The Rev. W. M'Donald, -Werator, for prosiding ; Sisters Mary and I hristabel and Mis J. W. Todd, for presenting prizes: Misse* Dagger, Davidson, and binipeon. for choosing prizes; th<> Rev. V" .
