A well-attended meeting of frcd'fers— ladies and gentlemen — was held recently in Auckland, when it was decided to form' a. club to play at the Ok(s. Tree HtiJ links recently vacated by tha Auckda.net Golf Club. The new course will consist of nine holes, airnd the club will be known as the Maungakiekie Golf Club. Over 60 names were handed ip a>t th© meeting for membership, and fche mew club ! bids fair to have a successful existence. Tho following officers were elected .- Pres'id^inr, Sir John Logon Campbell ; vice-prosfclente — Messrs James Kirker, W. It. Blomfield, P. N. Kingswell, and? Dr Gordon ; captain, P. T. Upton ; hon. Gee, J. C Burns ; hon treasurer, H. A. Marriner ; committee — (ladies) Mes<]<amee W. R. BlomfieM. A. M IWgiison, G. M. Newton, and T. D. Ball, (genfcLeme-n) Messrs H. P. Killing, H. G Tonks, L. W. Alexander, R. Lambert, and Dr Dudley. The subscription wae fixed at £3 3s per annum for gentlemen non-members of the Auckland Golf Olub, .>nd £1 10s for gentlemen members, and for 'adies £1 10s and 15s respectively. It was resolved flhat no gentleman members of the Auckla-nd GoK Olub 'be allowed* to t.tari be-fore 2.30 p.m. on Saturdays.
