WOMEN COMMITS SUICIDE.
AUCKLAND. October 19. Marion Greville, a married woman, 61 years of age, committed suicide at PariWl this jiorning. Deceased had been residing Avifch her sister (Mrs Saunders) in Moore". s avenue. She had her bi^eaJcfast at tho usual time — about 7.3o— and seemed then to be in her usual health and spirits. After breakfast she went out into the yard, and she was next seen some 20 minutes later hanging in one of the outhouses with a clothes line round her neck and over one of the rafters. She was cut down immediately, and a medical man wa» sent for at once, but he could only pro nounce iife extinct. Deceased had been in excellent health recently, but she had been worried considerably by tire disappearance of licr husband, who had not communicated with her since he left AuckhnJ seven weeks ago.
Seven women entered for the 3000 yards rowing race at the first race meeting- of the Paris Women's Boating Society on tho Maine, when all covered the distance in less tban 22m in, the time of the winner being 18min 17sec. The first three women were married.
