The adjourned annual meeting of the , Wpjkouaiti Racing Club was held on Wednesday, the 15th in=t. Mr A. S. Orboll (president) occupied the cliair. and thereweie- 30 members picsent. In connection with the- propo-al that the Palnierston and Waikouniti Clubs should amalgamate, a letter was read from the secret," rj of the Palmerston Racing Club to the effect that, after full consideration by hi"s flub, it had been decided to decline the ofTer. The officers for the ensuing jear were elected as follows: — President, Mr A. S. Orbell ; vice-presidents — Messrs Jas. M'Gill, P. Byrne, and 6. E. Ch&rlton ; secretary, Mr R. Templeton ; treaem-er, Mr James MGill, jun. With the a<ldition of Mr H. Heckler, the retiring- stewards ' were reelected. Thrt date of the next race meeting was fixed for January 3, 1910, with stakes amounting to £150. It was decided to license bookmakers (clerks included) at the meeting at a fee of £5. Mr A S. Orbell was appointed judge, Mr Husjh LJourley handicappei, Mr L.. Hazlett starter, and Mr G. Carlin-g clerk of course.
