WAIHI GRAND JUNCTION MINE. (From Our Own Correspondent.)
AUCKLAND, October 20. i Although tLcro has been a stead%- decline in the price of shares m the Waini Gland Junction Gold Company dvi ing- the past tow d»\» this cannot be attributed to any
deterioration in the mine or its future prospects. At the points where operations are in progress on the No. 1 reef (the Martha) at present the ore values are comparatively low, but the drive west : on the course of the lode should almost j immediately enter better-grade ore going i ea<s>t. Some distance will have to be | driven to get under the ohute of pay ore I coming down from No. 4 level. 'The I Empire reef continues to produce good ' dirt at No. 5 level, and everything points [ to the Royal, which will probably be intersected in two weeks, being cut in goodgrade ore, as the winze in close proximity has been going down in good-grade ore '. from No. 4 level, and i 3to within a short distance of the deepest workings of ; the mine (No. 5 level). Two new tube ' mills are now running at the battery, and ! two more are ncaring completion, which ! ittsans that a steady increase in the gold output may be looked for, as recent de- { velopments have substantially increased the ore- reserves in sight.
