Business generally has been quiet during the week and the bulk of the sales have been confined to Auckland stocks. Waihi Grand Junctions is one of the most favoured stocks, and at the beginning of the week there were four " reported sales at prices up to £2 10s 6d, but two days later they dropped back to £2 9s. Since then they have made a good recovery, closing sales on 'Change yesterday being £2 10s 6d. Waiotahis ha\e also fluctuated in values during the past week. At the beginning of the week they changed hands at 6s lOd, and later on touched 4s Id, but gradually improved to sales yesterday at '6s Id. Talisman Consolidaiede changed hands during the week at £2 15s 3d, the latest quote being £2 15s 6d. There was one sale of Waihis during the weak at £9 12s 6d, with more buyers at the same figure, and no sellers. Waihi Extended** have been quiet during the week, only one sale being recorded at 4s 7d, and May Queens changed hands at 4s Bd, closing— buyers 4s Bd, sellers ss. Now Slyvias have been freely quoted during the week, changing hands at 4s 9d, closing — buyers 4s lOd, sellers 5s Id. Herculos (.hanged hands at lls, and Watchmans at 2s lid. Dredging stocks have been quiet, although freely quoted during the week. Electrics changod hands at 4«, buyeis later offering 3s 9d. Rise and .Shines found buyers at 36s on Friday, the final selling quote being 38s. Olrigs were inquired for on Friday at Is 6d, with no sellers. Investment stocks have not been in much demand. National Insurance shares found buyers at 28s 9d. and were quoted yesterday 29s seller, and no buyers. Milburn Limes changed hands at 275. Buyers offered 52« yesterday for Dunedin Stock Exchange Proprietarys, but none were on offor, and 45s failed to secure New Z-ea-land Drugs. New Zealand Paper Mills wero inqured for at 22s 9d, nd Donaghy'fi Ropes at 200 6d, but there was no selling quote. May Queens accounted for half a dozen pales on 'Change or the 4th at prices ranging from 4s Bd to 4s lid. Tairua Broken Hills found buyers of four parcels at 2s 3d and 2s 4d. and three parcels of Watchmara found buyers at 2-s 9d. Waiotahis accounted for one sale at 5s 4d', and W'aihi Consolidateds at 5s 7d. There were onlly two reported saJee, one being Bank of New Zealands at £9 5s 6d, the oth<3r Waihi Grand Junctions at 50a 9d. Olrige advanced to 2s 6d buyers, with no sellers, and offers of 3s for Old Hauroki* and 25s for Blackwater Minas failed to find buyers. A quotation cf £9 4s 6d was madie for Bank of New Zealand shares, and 28s 6d for National Insurance, but none were offered, and offers of 52s 6d for Dunedin Stock Exchange Proprietary, 16s 3d for Kauri Timbers, 26s 9d for Milbums, 45s 6d for New Zealand
