CAMPBELL ISLAND WHALE STATION.

The Government steamer Hinemoa, on her periodioal trip to the outlying islands, left the Bluff at the end of last week. She will visit the different islands, repairing the depots (six in number) and boatsheds, and replenishing their stores. The round trip may be expected to occupy front 16 to 20 days. She took (writes our Bluff correspondent) only one passenger, Mr John He-berly, from Queen Charlotte Sound. Three of his eons are engaged ait the Campbell Island whaling station, and he is going out to pay them a flying visit. Tho Heberlys have been on the island since the early part of January last, and during the interval no communication whatever has been had with the island. The station hands are stout, active fellows approaching manhood, and mid-life, and more or less well versed in tha art of whaling. Mr Heberly, sen., is an old whaler himself; and is a son of tho historical pilot who navigated Colonel Wakefield's ship (tho Tory) in New Zealand waters. He is quite sanguine that the Campbell Island party will have something tangible to show for their six or- eight months' stay on the island. .He is taking? a very complete outfit of both gearing and personal and medical comforts. Captain Bollons promised to give him as long a, spell on the island as he could possibly afford, after which Mr Heberly will return to the Bluff with the 6teamer.
