► I SYDNEY. June 25. Eastern files contain a thrilling story in connection with the war against the Chinese rebels at Sumatra. The Government troops located a band in a large cave, and as they refused to surrender to the order of the military commander, a fire was lighted at the mouth of the cave, and kept going for a while. It was then extinguished, but as the rebels were still obdurate the fire was relighted. When the cave- was" examined five men, 12 women, and 11 children were found suffocated to death. Th° Governor of Ac been was so shocked that he at once ipsued an order to prevent • a '-epetition of similar horrors.
