SENIOR GRADE.
I MOBXINGTON V. KAITANGATA. Slippery but not .waterlogged sufficiently describes the "condition of the Gardens Reserve, where Kaitangata and Mornington played their return fixture. "The visitors'back division was -disorganised beoeuep of the unavoidable absence of some of their men, and Morningtqn played part of the ' first spell and most of the second without, tho services of D. Baillie. Mr Sinclair held the whistle. The game proved to be a very interesting and closeiy-eontested struggle, with plimpses of good football. The game ended: — Moi-nington 5 goals. Kaitangata * goals. Maori Hill v. Southern. These teams entered into friendly rivalry B.x, Corinthian Park, which was in a sloppy ' condition. The ball, consequently, ' was heavy and waterlogged, and it was not easy to provide epectaoular football. However, both teams soon settled to the business with energy, and a vigorous but friendly game resulted. The game ended in a draw, the ecore being: — Southern 1 goal. Maori Hill 1 goal. Northern v. Roslyn-Wakari. Mr HaLg controlled the match between Northern and Roslyn-Wakai'i at Culling Park. The latter team had a weak «>ide, being a man short throughout, and at one .vfcitgo having only nino men on the field. The game ended: Northern 7 goals. Roslyn-Wakari 4 goals. City team had a bye. Owing .to the state of the grounds in consequence of the bad weather all save First Grade matches were postponed.
While a new gas main. was being laid. at Donoaster an explosion occurred through gas from the old main catching light, and cix men were injured.
