The animal was working- in a gravel cart vp 1 to the time of lameness: is always very fa>f and easily kept. The heel of the frog on both forefeet are hollowed cut. but the horse is only lame on one foot. In- sleaaiing out the larue foot at one time dead maggots were found between- the ' flog and the hoof. There is a little heai in. the heel or the fide from .which the maggots were taken. There are no cracks or sores about- the horse in any way. Have the frog carefully pared out by the blaflksmittu-aad all -the-.- diseased portions cut away. Afterwards apply -the. following -ointment every night,:' — Tar ointment, loz: pulpkate of zinc . (finely, powdered), 2dis. Mix^-well: together, -and put- » little oa some fine-.taw aad introduce it as far down as possible into the cleft of the frop. and - -smear a little also over ■ a.U the affected , parts. Keep the frogs _ dry and cle*n. .This. ca.u be done by' tying an -'old "bag round' the feat.
