The eeconcl annual .-eport of the Committee of the Dunedin Centre, to be submitted to the delegates on July 19, contains the tti'-owinor clauses: — The centre held a- local tournament during the Christmas holidays, and received 48 en- j tries for the Rinks and 36 entries for me i Doubles. This proved a very successful and enjoyable gathering. The following were tire winners : —Rinks : First prize, Taieri Club (A. W. Christie, A. Cameron, D. L. Christie, A. C. il'lnttye, s) ; second prize, Kajtuna- (J. Robertson, C. R. G-ooch, F. S. Stokes, H. Smea.t<m, s) ; third prize, Dunedin (\V. Paget Ga.!e, \V. Thomson, J. Johnson, Wm. j ii'l/aren, s). Doubles : First prize, Roslyn Club (E. H. Fountain and A. Barnect, s^; second prize, Roslyn (C. H. Matthews and j. j Scoular, s) ; third prize, St. Kilda (R. Prebble , and F. Carter, s). Twelve clubs entered for the Four-rink Championship Match. The Dunedin Ciub were winners of section A. j and the Taieri Club the winners of section B. ■ The final round was played off on the Cale- ' donian Green, and resulted in the Taieri Club winning the banner fcr this season. Th-e ' Single-handed Championship Match was played off on Saturday, May 1. o:i the Dunedin Green, in ideal weather, and on a firstclass green, and resulted in Mr C. J. Payne (of the Kaituna Club) winning the m»dai, Mr D. Stevenson (of the Taieri Club) being the runner-up. The chairman of the centre presented Mr Pay nfe with the medal immediately after the match. The centre re- ' quests clubs and bcw'er= generally to abstain from copying- the design of t'ne medal, =o . that it may be kept specially for the champion of champions. During the season this centre has nlayed three matches with other centres. A perusal of the balance sheet shows that the expenses- for the. season, including champions' and -oentres' matches, amounts to £51 23 9d, while- the income received from clubs by -way of -levies amounts to £27 10s. A profit of £36 4s lid was, however, made with the Chrjstinas tournament, thus enabling the centre to show a credit balance of £12 12a 2d on its year's work.
