RETIREMENT OF MESSRS A. GRANT , AND T. ARTHUR. - - ; WELLINGTON,. June 21. - 'Mr- T. "Ai-thiir, ' Igraffic - -IStiperinf-endenS for the North Island, and Mr 'A. ' Grant, who occupies a similar position' for "the South Island, will retire from the service on superannuation" at the end- of this month. Tho department does not propose to fill these positions. Mr C. A. Piper, District Manager at invercaTgill, takes charge of the Otago and Southland section ; Mr S. T. WbTitcombe, -'District Manager, Christchurch, comes> to Wellington ; Mr W. J. .. Stringleman, elieving traffic manager, succeeds Mr Whitcom.be at Christchurch ; Mr T. W. Brebner, District Manager, Westport, assumes similar duties at Invercargill ; Mr "J. Ashley, District Manager at Grevmbuth, "is transferred to Westport. Mr A. "Duncan, stationmaster at Dunedin, oecbihes District Traffic Manager for vVestland. These promotions have all been mad« according to seniority and efficiency.
