REEFTON, June 20.

A -scheme to work a reef halfway between New Big River and Blackball lias been put forward in Reefton. The proposed capital is £30.000 in 10s shares. Th? reef has been struck, but the superfluity of water requires extended treatment. Over a quarter of the shares required have been applied for locally.

New Caledonian reports state that the workers have struck a reef track.

In the Xew Ulster mine the men have cut a reef track sft wide.
