AN EXCITING INCIDENT.
GERMAN STEAMER FIRED ON. LONDON, January 16. Advices from French West Afiica state that the Liberian Customs gunboat Lark, commanded by a British Naval Reserve officei-, fired on a steamer belonging to the German Woermann line off Gloc ester. The Lark \va« recently instructed to stop breaches of Customs regulations and to prevent the entrance of ships to Liberian ports which are not open to the trade o£ the Avor'd. A guardi-hip stationed on the Cameroon coast has started for Libeiia. January 18.
