There is a wall of fire six miles long, jind already 10,000 acres have been swept. Many narrow escapes are' recorded. December 23. A<s Cbrowa the- fires swept an area 20 miles long by seven miles broad. Many settlers havelhad tSieir^erops destroyed. \ Fires also- did -much, damage in the \ AlbuTy; and Germanton districts.
