WELLINGTON, December 14. The High Commissioner cabled from London on December 12: — Mutton. — There is no alteration in the . mutton market since last week. Lamb. — The market is weak and dull of sale. All brands of Australian stock are Accumulating, and are quoted at 4£d. There is no change in the price for New "' Zealand lamb. Beef. — Supplies of American chilled beef- are small, and prices declined. New . Zealand hindquarters ere quoted at 3£d; forequarters at 3£d. . Butter. — 3?he market is firm, with an im- - proved demand. Following arc the current- quotations": — Choicest New Zealand, Ills; Australian, 107s; Danish, # 116s; Argentine (of which supplies are increasing), 106s. Cheese. — The market is quiet, but steady, The Tunakina's shipment arrived in good condition, the result of raising the temperature of the_ cold storage from 45-50cU»g to 55-60deg being satisfactory, the cheese being well matured and ready for sale. New Zealand makes are quoted ai 58s, Canadian 61s. Hemp. — The market is quiet. Current •quotations are as follow : —Good fangrade, spot, £25; fair grade. 6pot, £23; fair current Manila, spot, £24 10> Jan-uary-March shipments, gocd fair grade £24 10s, fair grade £22 10s. Last week's output from Manila amounted to 28,000 bales.
