Th< Magistrate t.aid that he had been unable to complete the recount and pive his decision in the matter owing to the fact that the number of voting-papers at the first count had nnl been produoed at the recount. He therefore left it to the parties themselves to move further in the matter.

At the magisterial recount 17 voting papers were missing, and as these were all in favour of -Mr Thomson tho outcome of the recount. ,v far a.s it was possible to carry it in the absence of the 17 papers, is that Mr Barclay levies by 11 votes
