Mr Green's radish-bed had boon fc^eicly attacked by and he hcu^ht advice for their extermination. A neighbour told him to plato salt between the rows of plants. "Did \ou do as I told ,\ou?"' the neighbour asked on meeting Clrten a few days Later.
"I should think I did," he replied. V 'l pu^ the salt down one evening, and, ble.-e mv nonl. when I got up next morning the sluys were pulling up the radishes, dipping them in the salt, and eating ihein quite contentedly."
