Two specimens of what is surely one o9 he ugliest little creatures living, the moloclft izard, or wood devil, of Western AuetraiiaC liave been presented to the "Weilingtoi^ Mu6eum by Capt-ain Hennoh. One specie men is in spirits- and the other alive, butf probably not alive for long, since it musQ misß the extreme heat and droughts to* which it is accustomed. The live lizard in about 7in long, the normal 6ize, and its body is covered with knobs which 1 culminate in long spikes, giving it the ao« pearance of an animal cactue.
