TARANAKI AND WEST COAST OIL BORE.

NEW PLYMOUTH, November 27. The directors' report, to be presented at the annual meeting of the Taranaki Oil and Freehold Company, states that the bore is now down 885 ft, of which 740 ft went through very hard rock in difficult strata. The staff is now reaming the bore out to 14in from 449 ft downwards. The encouraging show of oil met with is improving steadily as th» boring is proceeded with\ The directors see their way to continue work for another year, but hope to get oil before thai time expires. November 28. The weekly report of the Taranaki Petroleum Company directors shows that! No. 2 well is a steady oil-producer,. soma{ 19 barrels being obtained this week. My W. J.
