THE ENGLISH SCULLING CHAMPIONSHIP: BARRY OUT FOR A SPIN. Quite a number of years have elapsed since an English sculling championship race was decided. It is. therefore, not surprising to find that a great deal of interest was taken in the meeting between George Towns and Ernest Barry, which took place on the 12th October from Putney to Kew. Mr G. E. D. Kennedy, the well-known rowing man, acted as umpire. Barry was coached by Wingate.
