PARIS, October 6. | » Thirty Governments are represented at . the Refrigerator Congress in Paris, and 6000 members are present, the British delegates numbering 100. M. Ruan (Minister of Agriculture), in opening the Congress, emphasised the enormous value' of the refrigerating industries in relation to rhe world's food supply and the necessity for opening up markets. By prudently using the refrigerating industry it would be possible to regulate prices in the interests-of producers and consumers, averting all fear of a famine. Sir Montague Nelson explained the great benefits which refrigerating had con? l'erred upon the British colonies. LONDON, October. & '■' At the Refrigerating Conference, Mr Anderson, representing Zealand, read a pager o*i the necessity for an international, standard of meat issp^ection. The paper was well received. ' The conference adopted a resolution which Mr Anderson submitted, .and the New Zealand Act vrac ako sbmitted as a suitable st&ndard for inspection. A proposal was adopted to appoint an International Committee to fix units and j symbols used in the refrigerating industry. October 10. The Refrigerating Conference adopted >Mr Coghlan's resolution expressing^ the' opinion that in order to redoice the cost of living to the workers and promote iriternatioitt] trade the regulations hampering tbs introduction of frozen or -chilled produce and fke storage, distribution,' and sale of prcduca in any country, should be : modified or abolished. • ]
