ADVERSE RATEPAYERS' MEETING. OAMARU, October 9. A meeting of ratepayers of the Oam&ru Harbour Board was held at Incholme on Thursday evening, tl^e ratepayers' there being anxious to discuss the board's proposals to borrow £50,000 for a new dredge and dredging, and also to obtain such information as they could in view of the forthcoming poll. There was a good attend- j ance, among those present being Mes6rs Wylie and Rose, who haii been invited as members of the board to be present j to give information. Tlje meetings was not one of those to be held in accordance with the act, but it ' expressed decided j objection to the proposed loan, and almost I unimimoufcly carried a motion against it.
