A letter was received from the secretary to the Muddy Terrace^ Sluicing Co. (Ltd.) stating that some timber had inadvertently been cut on run 326 a, and asking that the company be allowed to out and remove some sticks of timber on payment of £1 per 100. — Ranger to inspect and report. The company to be asked to furnish particulars of timber taken. John Milne, jun., wrote in reference tea burning coal pit on hie boundary.— Ranger to inspect and report. A memo was received from Commissioner of Crown Lands, Invercargill, asking if the commissioners nad any objection to the Board granting a sawmill site license on. run 88, Wyndham, to Mr John Carrd.— - Commissioners to agree to the grant of sawmill site. • A further memo was received froinN the Commissi on>er of Crown Lands, Invexcargill, slating that Mr A. MacGregor had applied to exchange his P.L. over sections 19 and 20, block I, Wendoaside, to renewable leases. — The Commissioner at Invercargill to be informed that the School Commissioners objected to the application being granted. Manager National M. and A. Company, Oamaru, wrote stating that he had received an offer of £2 per annum for leas^ of section 4, block XII, Oamaru town.— Received. , . An application was received from Archibald Gall for transfer of lease of section 17, "Waikaia district, from John Gall. — Agreed j to, provided the lessee consents. j The widow of the late W. D. Milne, lessee of sections 4 and 5, block VI, Eden- i dale, applied for authority to transfer lease to Mrs Thomas Robertson. — Agreed to. Thomas Andrews wrote asking if the commissioners would consent to transfer lease of eections 34 and 35, block VIII, Otepopo district, from H. Beckingsale to his daughter, Catherine G. Andrews.— Agreed to. Tlie Muddy Terrace Sluicing Company (Ltd.) applied for permission to take a pipe-line through Quarry reserve, section 78, block I, Wendon district, occupied by J. M'Crorie. — Commissioners had no objection, provided applicant arranged with present tenant. P. M'Gee applied to be allowed compensation for widening and deepening ditch through section 2 of 105, Taringatura district. — Widening and deepening of ditch to be made subject to valuation at • end of lease. A. Hall, lessee of eeefcion 51, block VII, Jacob's River Hundred, wrote again applying for reduction of rent. — The commissioners were willing to accept surrender, and to reoffer land for lease at an upset of 7s 6d per acre. A number of transfers and mortgages were consented to on the usual conditions. A letter w-n« received from Secretary to Post Office forwarding proclamation taking section 25, block I, Marakura township, under Public Works Act, and thanking the commissioners, on behalf of Postmastergeneral, for their agreement in the matter. — Recieved. Mr John Milne attended the meeting in connection with the proposed application to the warden for a special claim on run 254b, Wendon, including the areas of coalpit leases. — It was resolved that the commissioners had no objection to granting of license, provided that applicants entered into a bond to make good any damage to the interests of commissioners' tenants resulting from their operations', and to hold ■ the commissioners free from all liability in connection therewith. A copy of the resolution to be cent to the warden, who would be aeked to give effect to it. Accounts amounting to £56 15s Bd' were paeeed for pajment. i
