(Fbox Oub Own Qobrespjditdekt.)
WELLINGTON, August 26.
Mr Chamberlain, in hi* Teport about the Portobello Fish. Hatchery, refers to the successful importation of lobsters. Several of the stock lobsters had spawned, and there were about 100,000 ova in the hatcheries. These should hatch out in the early; subbbisb;. There are now in the station' 44 iobstere and 13 crabs, all doing well. - If the necessary funds are provided the board is prepared to undertake experiments in bringing out such other food fishes as may J^e found desirable. Some very interesting observations have been made at the station in regard to the habits of the lobsters, especially in regard to their reproduction.' Some of the facts ascertained are believed to bs neir to science.
