OTAGO DOCK TRUST.
At the Jast meeting of the Otego Dodd Trust, the Engineeir far tibe »eft« dock, (Mr B. Bay) reported thaitf the work in connection witih .tibe new dock was still being carried on at a slow rate. The principal work undertaken had been fine, concrete work ia the pump chamber and the setting up of a portion of the macjiinery. -whilst the process of asphalting the -wallfl bed been continued. The boiler had been built in position and the main flue rebuilt into the smoke-stack.— Mr Bullock asked if there were no means of expediting the work on the new dock. He thought the present progress was unnecessarily slow.— -Thsi Chairman remarked that there seemed no way out, of the difficulty, except to tald» • the work out of the contractor's hamde. Judging by present appearances, he thought there was'littja prospect of the work being completed before the close of the present , year.— -The report was adopted. I The Engineer (Mr J. Smaail) reported; that small quantities of rabbits, beet, and poultry had come to band during tfhe oast month ; 1900 coses of beef and rabbite had also bean.' shipped ex Kf eehire on the lsfli met.
