j AUCKLAND, August 29. I A young man. who was going to his home, at Newmarket last evening, found ! pinned to a tree in the Domain a piece of- paper with, ther fallowing, written on it: — "The finder. of this note will please infojm. the police thai I have shot myself, and that my body will be found on the ridge*"' The note was signed " A. Dudley, 87 victoria- street, Auckland;" Gto the reverse side of the paper was" written : — " Will the. finder of this note kindly tell my friends that I ana. tired of life." A search of the vicinity after dark was resultless-, and; the qu«st was adjourned until this, morning. Inquiries for 8.7 Victoria, street revealed the- fact that the place that had borne that number had been pulled ' down. The police are inclined to believe that the affair is a hoax.
