BLACKBALL STRIKE FINE.
LIQUIDATED AT L.AS 2. (From Our Own Cobekspondent ) GREYMOUTH, August 18. At the Magistrate's Court Mr Hannan, appearing for the judgment debtor — Viz., the Inspector of Awards. — appeared to ask the court to make an order dealing with the payment of certain moneys paid into court in payment of the fines" inflicted on the individual members of the Blackball Miners' Union. All Hannan stated that Mr Harper and himself had made out and agreed to a list which he submitted, «iTid which showed how the £203 10s 9d paid 'in by tile sub-debtor (the Blackball Company) could, with the magistrate's order, be paid out, but a further order would be needed to refund the balance, after payment of the fine, to the men to whom it belonged. Mr W. Leitch, being present, said the money had been paid into court, and they "sought the order to allow of the balance being paid over to the men. -The magistrate granted the order, and asked' for the distribution of all money over an<j above- the amount 'attached according jfi Sh& l^i agreed. uj>on, yvith coats*
