EXPANDING AIMS.—

' AUCKLAND, August 21^ The Auckland Agricultural and Pastoral Association, in the expectation" that the Main Trunk line will enable stock breeders in Taranaki and Wellington to compete, intends to greatly enlarge its show, ana to make it the largest in the North Island; It lias decided to : offer three challenge cups, valued at 20gs each; one for "stud draught horses, one for champion shor£horn bull, and one for most points in. stud sheep, to be won two years in succession; or three years at intervals. For the v winter show there is the 50 guinea. Weddel cup in the better classes, and the Freezing Company's 30 guinea challenge shield in the collection of produce classes. The association is also proposing to erect at large agricultural and ■ industrial " hall at Newmarket. ' - -'
