CHRISTCHURCH, May 29. The Mayor yesterday performed the ceremony of turning the first sod in the work of constructing a reservoir at Oa>hmero Hills, Ohristchurch, for the high-pressure water supply. • The Mayor said that the scheme would involve an expenditure of £115,000. The reservoir would be 240 ft above the level of Cathedral square, and would be decked with ferro-oonerete. About 120 miles of pipes would be u?ed in tha reticulation. The whole work would bf complete in seven months.
