ENCOURAGEMENT GIVEN TO AERONAUTICS.
It is interesting to note the many prize, that aro being offered at Home m connection with, aerial navigation. Every encouragement is being given to this novel means of transit, which is showing signs of steady advancement. Among the prizes offered "is that of £1000 by the Daily, Graphic for a flight extending over a mila hi length, the attempt to be made on tho Brooklands motor track. Another prize ofl €2500 has been offered by the Brooklands Automobile Racing Club for the first aeronaut to fly round the three-mile courser at a height of from "Oft to 50ft from tha trround. Other prizes open for competition are the Daily Mail £10,000 prize fa* a flight from London to Manchester, and the subsidiary prizes m connection with it. Among these is that offered by Lor<| Montagu of 5s per mile, providing at leasfj 25 miles is accomplished. An oner o
