CANTERBURY.

The annual meeting of the Prebbleton branch was held en the 13th inst. was a good attendance, and Mr J. W. Prebble was voted to tho chair. The Chairman gave a short account of i^he work done during the year, anrl drew attention to the benefits derived from co-operation. He thanked the committee, for their hearty support, and trusted that the branch would maintain its strength and activity during the coming year. The Secretary reported that although the members did not attend the ordinary meetings as well as might be desired, it was encouraging to find them so*.ready to pay their subscriptions and retain their membership. Three members had left the' district since the last meeting, but several new ones had joined. Correspondence was received from the Provincial Executive as to changing the rules. Ths meeting supported the proposed alteration m rules with one excepon— namely, the fixing of the levy on a graduated scale.
