CAMPS IN OTHER CENTRES.
NAPIER, April 17. Members of the Napier, Wairoa, and Gisborne Volunteer Companies to the number of 249, and a squad of the Napier Brigade of the St. John Ambulance Association, left last night to take part m the miitary manoeuvres near Wellington. WESTPORT. April 17. The weather turned out wretchedly for the Easter military manoeuvres, m which the Westland, Reefton, and Greymouth Rifles are acting as a raiding force !«•■*'-*
by the enemy's cruiser at Oape Foulwind. The Westport Artillery and the Denniston and Millerton Rifles are acting as a defending force. A night attack is arranged for to-night, but there is some talk of this being cancelled owing to the -state of the weather and the swampy nature ■of the ground separating the two forces. Lieutenant-colonel Morice is m charge of the manoeuvres, and Major Hughes is watching the proceedings on behalf of the Defence Department.
