The first of the season's mutton-bird catch reached the Bluff on the 13th, per th« fisheries steamer Loyalty. She brought them from the offshore islands at South Cape. Her officers report favourably of the work done, and seem assured that tho prospects of the season are good. At the meeting of the Morningtori Borough Council on the 14th the Tramway^ Committee submitted a lengthy report on the. traffic. The returns for March showed that the main line had carried 85,184 passengers and earned £624 2s 4d; Maryhill line 7432 passengers, earning £34 Is; Elgin ■ road line 9715 passengers, earning £39 7S sd;— grand total, £697 10s 9d.
