CONSOLIDATING SCHOOLS.

" a " t AUCKLANT), March 13 At this afternoon's annual meeting of the A. and P. Association Mr R. Dick, in speaking to the question of rural education, said there wa6 one point the Education Board had not yet touched upon, that was the consolidation of schools. He agreed that school teachers were not well paid. There were only a fow good men who expected a fair' remuneration under the present system. If the schools were consolidated they would be better equipped an.l better staffed, and there would also be a better opportunity of school teachers getting on and gaining a fair salary. He thoughc they should certainly appoint a deputation to wait on the Education Board, and urge those points for consideration.
