INFLUENZA IN LONDON.

LONDON, March 11. The deaths from influenza in London last week numbered 122. On January 22 a London paper stated : — "The most serious epidemic of influenza, which has ever been known in Liverpool is literally devastating the business houses and public offices. It is estimated that at the present moment thousands of people are ' down.' The sickness has especially attacked, in a virulent form, both men and women engaged in office work. One local bank alone has 40 men ill, and others are being brought in from distent banks. The work in some departments of shipping and insurance offices has been almost brought to a standstill owing to the large numbers of the staffs attacked by the epidemic. Nearly 100 policemen are on the sick list, and so numerous are the cases among po&tmen and postal clerks that emergency men have been called in. Twenty-one deaths directly attributed to influenza were reported in London last week, against 10, XL and 28 for the preceding three saseks."
