MESSAGE TO THE CLERGY.

LONDON, January 1

The Archbishop of Canterbury, in a New Year message to ' the clergy of his diocese, says that the Anglican Church in 1908 must face large questions of policy and practice in education, as well as in social- and liturgical matters.

Dr Davidson urges the ne-ed of a broadened outlook, " and adds : " This year should lift us into fresher air, in which we may be wholesomely startled to find how our problems strike the eyes of, say, Japanese Christians, or the American teacher, or the Australian politician."
