WEATHER FORECASTING.
"Ogg'e Weather Forecast For 1908" ms published by Mr J. Cummihg Ogg, of New Farm, Brisbane, and is an'attempt to .indicate the probable weather for the six months ending June, 1908. The Australian papers speak in complimentary terms of Mr Ogg's successful forecasting, especially as regards Queensland. During- the first half of the "present year, Mr Ogg says^ Nature-; is about to layish her. supplies of rain, ; over the entire Commonwealth, and New; Zealand. Dealing with crop" prospects, he predicts maize will.be late in ripening, but ! fairly, good -yields' are anticipated. Prolific j crops of hay, but lacking very much in quality. Oats will thrive and do well. Unfavourable for potatoes, disease reducing the yield below the average. Hops not, too j satisfactory. N ln New Zealand l dampness, ! excess of cloud -and cold will delay -harvest- j ing.. Barley crop fairish; wheat up to" the j average ; good ctrty^tß o-f oa.is J -Jaeavy crops of hay, but will suffer atitjinie of cutting from excessive wet. Potatoes fair, but yield much below the average.
