THEOSOPHICAL CONVENTION.
AUCKLAND, December 31. The twelfth annual.' convention of tha Theosophical Sooiety Was held yesterday. There was an attendance of about 20 delegates from all parts of. the Dominion. Mr S. Stuart (president of the Auckland! branch) was elected chairman. An increase of membership of 76 was shown for the past year,. The/ election of' officers ' resulted: —General secretary, Dr Sanders b' assistant general secretary, Mr .J. nQ Thomson; treasuipr, Mr W> Crawford. c
A farmer in the Wai^arapa found a. Iciwi3i neat under a clump of "fern in the bush tbi other day. They only lay a couple of eggej which are of enormous size. The bird i^j not much bigger than an ordinary hen, buf the egg is> bigger than ai goose eggf-rverk long, and quite round at 'each end, and* very pure white. The cook, birij 'dbies.tl^i'
