NEW ZEALAND TESTIMONIALS.

The following Testimonials from New Zealand patients speak for themselves. These are but a few, taken from scores of others, that can be seen at any time at Mr. Martin's Consulting Rooms :—

AN UNSOLICITED TESTIMONIAL SENT TO THE CHRISTCHURCH PAPERS BY A WELL-KNOWN RESIDENT. To the Editor. 24 Lower High street, Christchurch, April 17, 1904. Dear Sir, — Allow me, through the medium of your columns, to give my own experiences regarding the methods now before the public for the relief and cure of rupture. For the past 25 years I have suffered from a bad rupture on my left side. I tried every kind of truss that gave a faintest hope of relief, but gradually got worse. Twelve months ago I adopted a treatment with an elastic truss, to be worn night and day, and a lotion to be rubbed in in bed. I acted according to directions, but instead of curing me I got worse under the treatment, the agony being sometimes indescribable. While in this deplorable condition the advertisement of Dr J. A. Sherman's method caught my «\ve in the papers, and three weeks later I consulted Mr Martin, at the Clarendon Hotel. I am happy to say that, there and then, I found the relief I had been longing for. The appliance is the most comfortable one I ever wore ; in fact, I don't feel it on me. Already I feel quite a different man, .md have enjoyed better health these few weeks than I have done for years. Hence you will see why I appreciate Mr Martin's services, and I feel it my duty to make this public declaration that others affected may know where to obtain relief, and avo'd the delay and suffering from experiments such as I for long years experienced. Apart from Mr Martin's undoubted skill as a specialist in rupture, it is a pleasure to add that he is one of the most straightforward gentlemen I have ever met. — I am, yours truly, WILLIAM BATES. Furniture Manufacturer. Waimate, May 3, 1904. Mr A. W. MARTIN. Dear Sir, — In reply to your kind inf|iiiry, I hardily know how to thank you for curing me of a very painful rupture by Dr J. A. Sherman's method. I left off wearing the appliance three months ago, and I have never felt better in my life, not even before this affliction came upon me. At odd times I put on the appliance as a safeguard when I take athletic exercise, as it is so comfortable to wear. I am sure I could not have been long for this world if I had not got your treatment, as the pain and torture of other trusses, of which I had many, were something cruel, and would kill any man in time. Your treatment is one to be proud of and thankful for, and it will afford me great pleasure to meet sufferers and tell them how pleased I was with it. You are at liberty to usp this ns you like. — I am. yours sincerely, W. F. GEOROE. Mangoanoho, Wellington, January 26, 1904. Mr A. W. MART IN. Dear Sir. — I see by the papers that you are in Wanganui. I have had no return of my trouble since I got your treatment. I have not worn the appliance for some months, and can honestly say I am cured. I am well known in Rangitikei, and you can make what use you like of this letter. I sincerely hope any person suffering from rupture that sees your advertisement will £^ive your system a trial, and I have no fear for the result. — Yours sincerely, JOHN LAMBERT. Warkworth, Auckland, June 10, 1906. Mr A. W. MARTIN. Dear Sir, — I am very pleased to say that since you fixed me up in April last

I have had no trouble with my case, and feel much better in health than I have felt for years past. I feel sure that I will have no more pain or trouble with it, ard I am very thankful that I came under your kind and skilful treatment. Of course, you may be 6ure it is a great relief to be able to go without the big. heavy truss that I had to wear when I consulted you. and I am sure that soon I will be able to do without any appliance. In any case, I would not go back to trusses for any amount of money. I showed your appliance to the local doctor, and he said it was the best in every sense he had ever seen. I also showed it to the chemist, and he agreed with the doctor that it was the best ever made for rupture. You may be sure if I go on like this I will make your treat ment known as much as possible. — Yours sincerely. * JAMES TURNER KIRK, Master Mariner. V.M.C.A. Rooms, Dunedin. April 7, 1904. Mr A W. MARTIN. Dear Sir, — It gives me very great pleasure to let you know that I am keeping Al. I was ruptured about three and a-half years ago, and foolishly neglected it for about eighteen months. The ruptuie had then broken right through, and completely filled the scrotum. I went to my doctor, and he ordered me to wear a tiu"-s. so I went to the chemist and had one adjusted ; but I might as well ha\ c left it alone — in fact, I suffered more pain with it on than I did without it. I was then told by the chemist that I would have to get one made specially to suit me. and I was sent to Mr , the specialist. The special truss he made certainly supported the rupture, but it was heavy and cumber-some, and so close-fittine that I perspired very considerably, and was kept uncomfortable. After wearing the above for about nine months I read your advertisement re the Dr Sherman method, and after my first interview with you I was forced to the conclusion that the Dr Sherman method was by far the most common-sense method that had come under my notice. I then placed myself under your treatment, and I am exceedingly thankful to be able to say that my first conclusions have been fully substantiated by the results, and I am now a sound man. After having tried three different appliances, I can honestly state that for safety, surety, and comfort Dr Sherman's method is just the thing for anyone troubled with this common yet painful malady. You are at perfect liberty to make what use of this you like. — Believe me to be, yours sincerely, W. G. HANNAH Anderson's Bay. Dunedin. May 3. 1904. Mr A. W. MARTIN. Dear Sir. — I have much pleasure in informing you that, after applying the Sherman method for over nine months, the rupture has entirely disappeared. I take the appliance off occasionally, but intend to wear it three months longer as a safeguard. I feel assured that at the end of that period I will be quite safe to dispense with the treatment entirely. 1 have no hesitation in saying that the Sherman appliance is the best I have seen (the elastic truss is not to be compared with it). It is so comfortable to wear, simple, and efficient. I have recommended it to all who have asked my opinion, and will always do so in the future. — I am, your? truly. WILLIAM GALL. (Mr Gal) has worn no appliances for two years, and is completely cured.)

Wanganui, October 13, 1906. Mr A. \V. MARTIN. Sir, — I am now feeling so well that I think I should, for the benefit of all sufferers, give my testimony regarding my case. Before tr\ing your treatment, I had been suffering from a rupture on the left side for about three years, during which time I was treated by two doctors, whose treatment, however, did not do me any good, and the rupture steadily increased, untii it was the size of my closed hand. Since wearing your appliance and using the compound according to directions, I have not felt any pain whatever, and the rupture has never shown itee-lf since. I have been working at the plumbing tradi all the time, and have played hockey regularly for two seasons, with an occasional game of football thrown in, without feeling any effects of mv former trouble. I have also been passed as a first-class life for life assurance, and accepted as a member by a lodge, being passed by a different doctor on each occasion. I am now in the best of health, and consider the trying of your treatment the most fortunate event in my life. You are at liberty to show this letter to any sufferer from rupture, and I will be pleased to answer any communication re same. — Yours sincerely, JOHN D. GRAHAM. Cheltenham Road. De\onport, May 3, 1905. Mr A. W. MARTIN. Deal >S r. — Unsolicited. I beg to offer \ou my sincere thanks for the kindness I received when I consulted you in regard to the complaint I was suffering from ; also to testify to the great pleasure and relief I have experienced from Dr J. A. Shermans INVALUABLE METHOD OF TREATMENT OF RUPTURE as supplied by you. To those suffering from rupture 1 would recommend them to consult you and obtain, as I have done, Dr Sherman's treatment. Two years ago I ruptured myself lifting a ladder out of a well 26ft deep. About seven months ago I received a truss and directions as to treatment, which 1 strictly observed. I wore the truss about six months, but had to discontinue wearing it, owing to the constant pain and agony I suffered. I was afr.iid to eat wh.it was necessary to keep my system up. and allowed myself to run down, until I could not stand upright. Fortunately T saw your advertisement in the Auckland papers, and consulted you and obtained Dr Sherman's method of treat nunt. Although I am within eight months of 80 years of age, I am now able to walk about almost as straight as I did before I met with this misfortune. I ;an well known in Auckland and Devonport, having been an officer of the City Council of Auckland for the period of 2*B years. I will be pleased to tell anyone that is suffering from rupture the rolief I havo experienced since obtaining your 'H'atment. but cannot reply to any letters. You can use this lettpr as you like, as T consider Dr J. A. Sherman's method of treatment of rupture SHOULD BE MADE KNOWN ALL OVER THE WORLD. With kind wishes, and may you have success unbounded. — I remain, yours sin ceruly. GEORGE N. GOLDIE (Mr CJoldie now wears no appliance.) Te Awamutu, April 13. 1905. Mr A. W. MARTIN. Dear Sir, — I have the greatest pleasure in testifying to the xelief I have obtained from Dr J. A. Sherman's method of treating rupture, and the manner in which you tieated my case when I called on you.

I have suffered from a bad rupture on my left side for 25 years, and the agony I suffered is only known to those who are similarly afflicted. I never felt safe in doing any heavy work, as the truss I wore, although considered the best, was anything but reliable. Two months ago another rupture appeared on my right side, causing me additional pain and anxiety of mind. Seeing your advertisement in the Auckland papers, I made up mj- mind to see you. On the 28th February I received your treatment. I can now work or ride with ease, safety, and comfort ; and, judging from the improvement I have made these few weeks, I have every confidence that the treatment will cure me. I would not go back to the old system of trusses if I was offered £50 to do so. I am well known in the Waikato district, and will be glad to express my relief to any sufferer ; but I have no time for answering letters. You may use this as you like. — I am, yours sincerely, WILLIAM VOICE, Blacksmith and Wheelwright. 49 YEARS OF PAIN AND AGONY. Cured by the Sherman Method after trying every kind of Truss and Treatment that money could buy. Otago, June 5, 1905. Mr A. W. MARTIN. Dear Sir, — I feel \<tv grateful indeed to you. Sir, for advising me to try your remedies, which I consider, with the appliances and curat.ve compound, are the only safe and complete cure in the world. I still intend to wear the appliance for borne time yet, as I feel quite safe while wearing it, although I have jumped about the noor with the appliance off, and no appearance of the rupture, which I could not do for the past 49 years. The curative power of the compound is mo6t astonishing, particularly m my case, as I was luptured at a very early age, and have had that burden weighing me down through life. T am now 53 years of age, and I can conscientiously say that the last 12 months have been a pleasure to me that I never experienced before. In my daily labour I can strike with a 161b hammer, and lift heavy timber with impunity, as the rupture does not come down, neither do I feel any pain. I say again, Dr Sherman's method is a great boon to the ruptured, no matter how severe or of how long standing. The treatment that could cure me. I honestly believe, would cure any person. I have tried a lot of remedies in my lifetime, sven when I was a lad, but all to no purpose. Therefore, Sir, you car. imagine I have suffered a considerable amount of pain during my life. You are nt liberty to show this letter to nriy stiff* rer, particularly if he lias any doubts concerning the curative power of your remedy. — Yours vory sincerely, A P— =. CTKKT) BY THE SHERMAN METHOD AFTER SIXTEEN YEARS OF AGONY. Central Otago, January 30. 1906. Mi A. W. MARTIN. Dear Sir, — You will remember me biiug ing my daughter to you for treatment when you wore in Dunedin. She had then suffered lor 16 years, and was so bad that I could not take her for a walk, neither could she do any light housework, as she was always in pain. Now, we have given your treatment a fair trial, and I am happy to say she is cured, and feels nothing of her trouble She has since got married, and has two children. She is enjoying splendid health,

and has not worn the appliance for some time now. I hope you are succeeding in your treatment, and I can safely say that if your patients only pay attention to your instructions they will soon affect a cure. I am of opinion that there are hundreds of both sexes suffering from the same trouble, and it any require a proof, by writing to m« or my daughter, we will give them every information on the subject. My daughter ard her husband join with me in thanking \ou for what you have done, and we hope that you may continue to help suffering humanity. — With very best wishes, Feiguson street W., Palmerston N., October 16, 1905. Mr A. W. MARTIN. Dear Sir, — Just a line to thank you for Dr Sherman's wonderful rupture cure. I took my little boy to you last Christina 1 -. Ho was then 14 months old, and had been ruptured nearly a year. After using your lemedies about three months he was quite cured, and I have not seen a sign of it for seven months now, so I know he is ( tired. — I am, yours respectfully, MRS ROUBERG. Heriot, December 28, 1903. Mr A. W. MARTIN. Dear Sir, — My four children treated by \ou arc all cured. One boy, 11 years old, had been ruptured for ten years ; the girl, eight yi-ars old, had been ruptured for two \ ears ; another boy, five years old, ruptured since a baby ; and the youngest, one and a-half years old, also ruptured since a baby. I say Dr J. A. Sherman's method is a great boon to humanity, as I am convinced it is a certain cure for l upt lire. — Yours gratefully, MRS W. M. M'DONALD. 47 Tinakori road, Wellington July 26, 1907. A. W. MARTIN, Esq., Rupture Specialist, 14 High street, Dunediin. Dear Sir, I have great pleasure in letting you know how successful your Rupture Cure has been in my case. I underwent your treatment on the Bth of November, 1906, and continued same until May this year, then, feeling so well, dispensed with the lotion entirely. I also discontinued the use of the support (except for a few days in June, when I was doing heavy work, I took the precaution to wear the support ; since then I have dono away with this). I fail to find any indications or feelings of the trouble even after a long day's walking or bicycle-riding, SO I AM POSITIVE I HAVE BEEN COM PLETELY CURED. You are at liberty to make use of this as \ou think proper, for such a simple <md* certain care is of untold value to sufferers of this painful and dangerous complaint. — I remain, yours faithfully, JAMES SYDNEY FAULKNER. Cured by the Sherman Method after baffling the skill of one of the leading surgeons of Dunedin. St. Clair, Dunedin, July 12, 1906. Mr A. W. MARTIN. Deir Sir, — I can never say enough in favour of Dr J. A. Sherman's treatment for Tiipture. I had no hope of a cure from one of the leading doctors of the city, until I came under your skilful hand.s. I received immediate relief, and have enjoyed ease and comfort ever since. I can now work in the garden ev«ry da\ and feel no pain.
