Country Sales.— The Qtago Farmers' Cooperative Association of New Zealand (Ltd.) reportß holding on Tuesday last, at Saddle Hill, on account of Miss M'Hatelie, a most successful sale of s>lock, imp!emcnts, and household furniture. ' attendance of buyers from the surrounding districts, and bidding was keen throughout the sale. The cows were a particularly fine lot, and sold at up to £6 12a 6d. The rest of the live stocks, implements, etc., all sold at full market rates. Rabbitskins. — No sales were held this week. Sheepskins. — Tuesday's sales were well attended, and large catalogues were submitted by the various agents. Bidding was brisk throughout the sale, and prices, with; the exception of halfbreds, which were a> shade easier, were fully equal to these ruling at last sale. Quotations: Best half bred skins, BJd to BJd; medium, 7Jd to 8d; best crossbred?, 8d to B£d; coaxse, 6gd to 7Jd; best merinos, 7d to 8d; medium, 6Jd to 6Jd per lb; pelts, Is 4d to 2a Sd; lambskins, Is 6d to 2s 8d each. Hides.— No sales will be held till January, 9. * • Tallow and Fat.-*-There is no change to report in the local market. Supplies are limited, and there is a good demand for all -coming forward. Quotations: Best rendered, 22s 6d to 28s 6d; medium to good, 20a to 21s 6d; best to rough fat, 16s 6d to 18a; medium, 14s to 15s 6d; inferior, 12s 6d to 13s 6d per cwt. , - Grain. — Oats : The oat market shows, no improvement since our last report. Very little business is passing, even the local demand having fallen off. Within the laat few days several consignments on farmers' account have come to hand, and the heavier offerings have had a tendency to send prices back still further. Sound-conditioned eorts sell at 25s to 80s; others, 10s to 20s per ton (sacks included). / Chaff. — Heavier supplies have oome forward during the week, and prices nave again suffered a decline.
