The meeting of the Otago Land Board was continued on the 11th; pressnt — The Commissioner of Crown Lands ,(Mr D. Barron), Messrs W. Dallas, G. Livingstone, and J. M. M'Kenzie. A letter was received from F. C. Kelcher with reference to his application for a license to occupy section 145, block 11, Otepopo district, and to the fencing that is on the section. — Referred to the ranger to make valuation of fencing. t -# J. R. Bartholomew forwarded an application from William Bringans to purchase an area of 30 acres of unsurveyed land in Conroy'a Gully, Fraser district. — Referred to warden for report. A letter was read from James Clouston with reference to his application for a license to occupy 10 acres of reserve adjoining section 13, block V, Btackstone district. — Received. Ranger Mackenzie reported on the application by Andrew Lambie for an area in block XI, Skipper's Creek 'district. — Referred to warden for report. Ranger Mackenzie- reported on the applies^ tian by C. p. Koch for a, license to occupy the recreation reserve, town of Glenorchy. — Yearly grazing license granted; rent, 20s. An application was received for an occupation lease under the Mining Distiict-3 Land Occupation Act: John Buchanan Strtchan, 10 acres, St. Bathans district. — As this application is within the national endowment, it could not be granted. An application was received for an occupation lease under the Mining Districts Land Occupation Act: Henry Clyde Parcel!, 16 acres in Fraser' district (William Wood, agent). — Referred to warden for Teport. J A letter was received from P. J, O'Brien ! asking if R. Toutfc had any right over the Clydevale punt reserve, sections 1 and ». block I. Pomahaka district. — To be informed j that Mr Toutt has no grazing right over the i reserve. Ranger Mackenzie forwarded a letter from R. J. Paulin asking ihat he be allowed valuation for^ the house on section 19, block VIII, Glenorchy town, when offered by auction. — Valuation of £50 to bs allowed. John Wilson wrote asking the boarfi to reconsider its decision declining to grant Miss M. Wilson exemption from residence on small grazing run 226 c, Lauder. — Previous decision adhered to. T. B. M'Neil, on behalf of James Dugan, applied for a license to occupy part of the tail-race reserve between sections 39 and 40, block I, Naseby district.— Referred to District Surveyor/ Calder for report. Renewal of perpetual lease under section 151 of 7 The Land Act, 3885": Wm. Sutherland, section 20, block V, Dunbeok district.— Jttanger ' Atkinson wa3 appointed «rbitrator ; lessee also to appoint an arbitrator. Tarras district— John M'Rae to Elizabeth Cotton Smith.— Granted? Lease in perpetuity 1164, sections 12 *nd 18, block XIII, Tarras district— Malcolm M'Ree to EK»beth Cotton Smith.— Granted. Lease in perpetuity 402, allotment 61, Maerewhenua Estate — Administrators in the estate of the late James Fleming to William Brash Hutchison. — Granted. Lease in perpetuity 119 (v.h.), section 30. block V, Maerowlienu* district — Robert Holmes to John Matches.— Granted. Optional lease 17, section 111, block IX, Maerewhenu* district.— John G. Cole to Jos. Frater. — Declined, as the new act require? two years' residence before transfer can be considered. Lease in perpetuity 1394, sections 11b and 12a, Steward Settlement — Application for lease to issue in the name of Edward Hedges and Charles Hedges. — Lea3e to issue in the two names. Lease in perpetuity 1190, abetment 6a, Windwr Park Settlement— John F. Kydd to Thomas Watson. — Recommended for approval to the Minister. V7s.B. 10, section 76, block 1, Hawkebury district— James M'Dougall to Elizabeth Madams. — Referred to ranger for report. Lease in perpetuity 1418, section 88, block VIII. Leaning Rock district— M«y M. Thomson to Robert Lswia. — To be informed thatuntil required- improvements have been effected the board cannot recommend transfer. Option, with right of purchase 210. section 12, block VII, Woodland district— Robert Warnock. and James Leal to Robert S. Latta, William H. Latta, and Thomas S. Latta.—Declined. Lease in perpetuity 1319, allotments 2a and 7a. Stewart Settlement. — John Baird and John King to John King as sole lessee. — Under the circumstances stated by Mr King, the board decided to recommend the Minister to grant the transfer. A letter was read from James Samson and Co. with reference to portion of section 44< North-East Valley district. — Land to be suiveyed and offered for sale Watson Shennan applied for an extension of his lease over sectiojr 1 block Xll.'Gimmerburn district.— The requirements of the Forest Department to be ascertained before dealing with the section. ' An application by A. M'Corkindale for 1 acre of the mining reserve on block I, Waitahuna West district, was declined, as the Go-, vernment requires this reserve retained for mining purposes. An application by J. R. M. Taylor to transfer Motion -88. block VIII, Tokorahi Estate, to Charles Durdin was approved nubject to consent of Minister. An application from Alexander Rae, of Rataaui. to be allowed to shoot some wild cattle, was referred to Constable M'Kenzie •the local ranger for inquiry and report.
