WAIHI EXTENDED.
(FBOK UVB. OWK COBBBSPOHDBNT.) AUCKLAND, December 13, The manager at tb» Waihi Extended zmn» telegraphed yesterday stating that the rtej is opening up well, and the* good aulpbicWore fs showing. In a report dated Dscembes 9 the manager uaysr— "ln the crosscut int* the lode so for we he,ve passed through ft body of stone 6ft wide. This is very compact* and solid, and from its appearance shouldt extend back for soxm oonuidsrsible dietanoe towards the shaft. Where exposed in tha crosscut it is not of very high grade «ften passing country rock* after •whim stone Is again showing in the face. The. ore »t pr<y Bent looks more like the footwall as ahowina in the winxe. This points to the probabilrtyi of the first sft of stone being » mere splice off ' make ' of stone, or else it ha* not reached the crosscut in the winze. , Thia -would account for the sulphide em not being tat hood sooner. The second body of stone iflj only exposed on one side of the aroucufg. so that I cannot see very much of it yet. M hope to have it fully exposed to-morrow."
